Interesting boats

It's cheap for an 82 footer[/url]

Love the boat, just had to chuckle at this. Note to self: if I ever find myself uttering those words, it's a good idea to run fast in the other direction!

As a long time fan of power catamarans, this boat caught my attention a year or so ago (yes, it has been for sale for a long time). Love the layout (at least as best one can tell from the pictures). The overall condition of the boat looks concerning (serious growth on hulls, etc...). Looks like a long time live aboard that hasn't moved much in a long time.

That's the sense that I get as well. Shame. I know the feeling of stepping aboard a boat you thought would be great and immediately knowing that it's a basket case. Martinique is a loooong way to travel to risk repeating that experience.

Man that's cool....

This class was known as a horrible seaboat ...But CG service and yacht service differ...

I have seen this boat off of NY harbor... She certainly is well maintained, looks great..I think she may be owned by sea scouts? I see the CG aux banner...

Dutch built, refitted locally. An attractive boat with fuel filtration aplenty! But those fingermarks on the stainless steel fridge/freezer drawers are a blot on the pristine landscape.

I inquired: AUD $2,200,000

A little our of my price range! :)

How hard is it to find permanent birth on that coast for a 60 footer?
Here`s one example of availability:https://superyachtmarina.com.au/
Our Marina at Bobbin Head inside Ku Ring Gai national park, operated by empire Marinas, can and does accommodate boats that size. I don`t think it would be too difficult, the "rich and famous" of Sydney seem to have a taste for big motor cruisers, usually professionally crewed.

Nigel Irens "Hang Tuah"

Don't know if someone already post on this boat who was for sale at an asking price of 250k$ and with the indication "make an offer" .
It seem someone made an offer

@long-course.62: Thank you sincerely for this extra information. Yes, the world of boat brokers is interesting, for sure.

Well, that Hang Tuah certainly does qualify as an Interesting Boat. Looks like they keep a small 4kW generator running 24/7 to power it, although with today's technology that could easily be replaced with a large solar array.

A shame how it has been neglected and has deteriorated over the years.

I find this boat quite intriguing although I wish the power was dialed back a bit. Normal beam so easier to find docking however hopefully with some added stability from 2 hulls.

OMG, a V drive in a catamaran! One look at the engines shoehorned into the hulls makes it a total maintenance nightmare. Don't walk away, run!

Ted

Not scared of the v-drives, as I've owned a boat outfitted with such.

But the boat in question looks as though access to the sides of the engines is extremely limited. Lots of standing on your head for routine service.

That’s not Shoe horned. My buddy has a 43 Lagoon power cat with the 300 hp Volvo KDs in it. What a nightmare to work on , add insult to injury the Volvos.

Totally agree and the staterooms are pretty tight, too. Needs to be bigger.

Same designer and engines as ours.
If you go with a full width master on a cat that size you are lucky to get a guest cabin at all.
With a short cockpit design powercat you need either v drive or stern drives, I would vote for v drive every time.
You would have to pull the engine for any shaft or transmission maintenance but that lets you do a lot of other work at the same time.
I don't like that flybridge access at all, which is the main reason we don't have a flybridge.
Everything is a compromise, especially if you want to fit a cat in a standard berth.
I quite like it.
