Teak deck

Has anyone found a good way to remove teak decking caulk from gel coat, where I, uh, smeared it? Acetone, and light compounding where I must? Some neighbors say toothpaste. Or are they out to make a fool of me?

Let it set up first then remove what you can with a plastic scrapper and/or gentle touch with a razor blade scraper (make sure it is flat). What cannot be removed easily with these methods, Acetone.

That's what I have used for 3M 4200. Same for teak decking caulk.

If the caulking is any good it ain't coming off easy. Scrape as much as you can using a plastic putty knife or credit card. Live with it a season or so. Touch it with sandpaper when no one is looking. Been there.
