I bought a new to me 1986 Albin 40 Trawler and I have it docked in a marina in the Finger Lakes of NY. Ithaca NY on Cayuga Lake to be precise. We love taking it out and going swimming off it as much as we can.
From the day I bought it I have had fellow boaters yell out --- "'Love your boat!" And it seems everyone who goes by the boat now yell out "Beautiful boat!" or "I want a boat just like yours!" Admittedly I have done some bright work, but my feeling is the Trawler is having a "comeback" aesthetically and philosophically and pragmatically.
There is only one other Trawler in our entire Marina of abut 400 slips, however far more than one person has said --- "You've got the best boat in the whole marina."
It's to the point where I have come to expect people to say very nice things about my trawler!!! This could be a "problem"...
It seems to me the trawler is again enjoying a HEYDAY, a new wave of appreciation in 2020.
Anyone else have similar observations?
