I have a Northern Lights M673. The voltage regulator is shorting out and I need a replacement. Does anyone know of a knock-off regulator I can use as an exact replacement part vs. an oem part? Thanks in advance... ($$)

Check this one out on Amazon. It claims to be 'short circuit protected'!

Does it meet the same spec is the original? I can’t seem to find that spec anywhere. Thanks

I have no information on your NL regulator.
I'm guessing that it controls the small alternator that recharges the starting battery.
If this is so, a simple voltage regulator (like the one at Amazon) may be all you need.
Obviously the safest course would be to get the replacement part from a NL dealer.

Out of curiosity I looked online at a NL parts dealer and they want $300 for that part.
For the sake of comparison, I recently bought a new O.E.M. D.C. voltage regulator for a
1963 Toyota Land Cruiser for about $27.
