Oakland Area Marinas

Hi all, wondering if anyone has opinions on marinas in the Oakland area. Would love to be at Jack London, but no slips available. Other options are Central Basin, Grand Marina and Marina Village.

I'd be coming from the Peninsula.

Looks like there are also options in Berkeley and Emeryville, but thinking the weather might be better (warmer, less windy) in the Estuary area.

Closer to home there is Coyote Point and some options in Redwood City. But seems like it's a haul to the bay, even in a powerboat.

Never kept a boat in the inner harbor. We have a slip in Vallejo. An occasional member of TF had a slip at Fortman Marina on the Alameda side. We visited them a couple of times and Fortman seemed like a nice, well run marina.

We kept a boat at Marina Village for almost 10 years and highly recommend it. The facilities were nice, a short walk to groceries and restaurants, and sheltered from the usual Bay winds. You could take the boat over to the pumpout almost any time you needed to. Berkely and Emeryville are great for sailors, meaning cold and windy, but not so much for power boaters.

Marina Village and Grand Marina are without a doubt the nicest marinas on the estuary. All of the Oakland marinas (Jack London and Central Basin included) run a distant second or third at best, IMHO.

We have a slip at Marina Village and thoroughly enjoy it. Only about 1/2 hour to the Bay Bridge. Coming back down the estuary, the wind is generally at your back.... warmer too. Great location.
Grand Marina, except for parking problems, is an excellent location as well.
Both top notch marinas and, in
my opinion, better than other choices on the estuary.
One other option is to join a yacht club with available slips.
