Created storage with 2 drawers and 2 doors. Still need to continue and adjust the hinges and continue the wood work.

But Thom, I hear you thinking, what if you bring a nice girl back to your boat? You only have one bunk? Aha, see I thought of that! I've made a steel frame which I'm able to put between both benches in the wheelhouse. By turning both the cushions of the benches I'm able to sleep 2 more. :rofl::lol:

The wheelhouse was added in 1970. By that time most wheelhouse's on (dutch) boats looked a bit similar. The hull and the most forward cabin ( with the porthole's ) are 'original' and were made in the 30's.

For those who'd like to hear the engine I have attached a video of the engine running on half-ahead. ;)

I spend some time looking for suitable floors for my boat. I wanted teak deck but that would have got way too expensive for me. Another option was linolium or vinyl floor. But in my opinion a classic boot should have a wooden floor. ;)

I spend some more time looking at flexi-teak and other teak 'based' floors and finally decided to start making one myself out of plywood.

The plywood I cut down to 5 cm ( +/- 2 inch ) strips and gleud them to the base of the floor. The gaps between I filled with an acrylic sealant and currently I have epoxy'ed the panel for the first time. Next step is sanding, epoxying, sanding again and then apply the final layer of epoxy to archieve a smooth result.

I had problems with the diesel. The last bunkerstation I visited had contaminated dieselfeul. Which by the time I realised I already had taken on 80 gallons or so. So now I'm faced with the problems of a contaminated feulsystem. The feul was loaded with dieselbacteria, water and even mud/sand. ( engine died when cruising back. ) Did a quick check and on first sight the tanks will have to be cleaned, feullines replaced, filter, and injectorlines replaced and the injectors cleaned. It's possible that the feulpump also is clogged. Might have to open that up to see.

So I did, Removed the diesel out of the tanks and started by removing one of the tanks. I cleaned it with gasoline and replaced the old Vetus filter by a Delphi one. The replacementfilters for the former costed me around 45,- and the ones for the Delphi were only 4,50. Plus it's nice that with the Delphi filter you can actually see how many water is in it. After that I switched from the old 6 milimeter feullines to new ones from 8 milimeter. Cleaned the injectors and replaced the injectorlines with the spare ones I carry on board. Dieselpump did not seem to have any problems.

The engine is running happely again after all of this, however I currently am running on only 1/4 of the feul capacity since only one tank is now clean and connected to the feul system. The other 2 tanks are currently not in use.

While I had most of the floarboards open it was a good time to start cleaning the bilge and preparing her for a new coat of bilge paint.

Used a degreaser to remove most of the oil/grease and dirt.

But even more significant than the "bone in her teeth" re post 72 is the following wave under her stern. Doing a little surfing Thom? That's a nice wave and she's not bow up either. Good.
 
With your boat engine it should be practical to pump fuel into containers at a reliable auto fuel station, avoiding the rogue waterside fuel operators, and top up tanks that way. Add any additive into each container you fill.

Thanks! took me some time to get it right, replacing, adding and removing ballast. She still has the tendency to 'dive' at full speed but that should get solved when I start welding the cockpit.

The cabin doors had their best years behind them. The varnish was gone and the weather got 'into' the wood. Time to start the re-varnish process!

Materials required:

- Paintbrushes
- Painterstape
- Stripping agent
- Paint strippers
- A 6-pack of beers
- Sanding paper.

I mostly do! but I had to cover 315 miles in 3 days so I took the first best feul station I could find. The new feul system I have installed can't end up with clogged feul lines again. The filter element was moved as close to the tank as possible. Before it was about 10 feet from the tank. I don't use additives. Only acetone. Of which I put a little in the tank each feul stop. It gives a more complete combustion in my old engine and it should help with the bacteria too.
