What are your thoughts on using galvanized (electro) sheet steel for icebox construction? Stainless is very expensive here. Some sort of coating (baked enamel, rubberized, etc.) would of course coat the interior.
How about either sheet fiberglass or ply/epoxy/fiberglass then painted with a good white enamel. We added insulation to a sailboat box by doing the above and years later it still looked and functioned great.

How did the white enamel paint hold up on the interior over the years? Did it start chipping and flaking due to temperature or humidity?
