Fuel pickup tube Mercury Quick Silver 25 litre tank

I’m not sure exactly where this thread belongs and I’ve put it here. The fuel pickup tube Mercury Quick Silver 25 litre tank has become brittle and snapped quite easily on inspection. Also the copper wire on the float is somehow corroded. I have searched the web for a replacement tube and have no joy. Purchasing a new tank to replace one that is otherwise fine seems overkill and defeatist. Any advice much appreciated.

I decided to replace the whole tank and lines with a Moeller tank. Somewhat affordable.
