Well it has finally come to this… I get to spend more money on my boat. ?

She goes on the hard on Tuesday and will be sitting for approximately three months while a company back east rebuilds the original Perkins 6.354 diesel engines and the velvet drives. While that’s happening, I have a fiberglass guy that’s going to do some repairs on the upper deck and with the engines back in place, replace the windows and doors. Meanwhile the electric is being replaced 100%, a complete in 2K backbone system is going to be installed, and all electronics are going to be new. This summer a fresh coat of paint is going to bring her back to what she should be looking like, and I’m looking forward to being on the water with her again.

I will be posting pictures and all the appropriate forums as I do the work, as well as updates on this thread for those that are interested.

Good on you for doing this! As a veteran of something similar, my tip is do not track your expenses - better to have plausible deniability. I've also found it useful to exclude my other half from important decisions.

Good luck and pictures are welcomed!

Or just go with this approach.

One propshaft had pitting and the other had a .070 bend near the end… new shafts for the new props.

Very nice. Gotta love white engines. Be easy to see leaks.
