If you took a FD 30’ boat to the boat shows and when people asked how much hp the boat had .. consider that of all those lookers drove a car w a V8 engine whereas all cars then were available w excellent 6cyl engines. But most all opted for the V type 8cyl engines. No amount of power was too much for these people that are now at an age where they are the majority of buyers of yacht type boats. And also the majority of TF members.

But most all people living in cars all their lives can’t get their brain around a 5 to 8 ton vehicle being powered by a 40hp engine. That’s for cars we call roller skates.

Mercedes support is a concern. I plan to check with some automotive suppliers as well as marine. There seems to be quite a few cars of that vintage running around.

I’m shopping in the under $50,000 market now. If I don’t find something suitable there, I’ll bump it up. Also trying to find something East of the Rockies.

I just saw a 35 chb sundeck in florida for $47,000 that looks pretty decent. I believe it has a lehman 120.
