RE: Photo Gallery - All Members Boats
Hey Skip,
I thought da boat was 38' or so. After seeing the pics it still looks like 38. Love the soft and fuzzy wheelhouse**** ...and the knot** ty decoor. What's your displacement*** ..10-12 tons? Engine? You've done some nice things inside Skip. Looks like it would be cozzy in the winter. Thanks for the pics*** ..I've been wondering about your boat for a long.

Sure.* It's unimportant your boat looks more trawler-like than many here.* "Trawler life" on this forum is a frame of mind.

Trawlerguy,
I take it your boat was built on Gwynn's Island? Haven't seen one like her in these parts (Deltaville). She's a beauty tell us more about her.

Thanks Eric,
One Of the problems I have had with a one off boat. Not another one like her. I have no idea about displacement. And no way to find out short of weighing her. There is no way to do that where the boat is. She has a cat 3208 n.a. 210 hp 24x18 rh prop.
I think she was none to stable when she was built. As bilge keels were added as well as the para vanes. She is a little rocky tippy but with the stabilizers out she sure can take some rough water. Got caught in some bad weather off Hinchinbrook in the Gulf of Alaska.**Quite a bit of green water over the wheel house.
The rope work came from a free coil of 3/4 manila. sort of like a chittychittybangbang.
approach to putting her together.*What ever I can find.*I have used a lot of stuff most people don't put on boats.*Hey it works for me. Best part is she is all paid for and works great.
All the wood trim is from a nice birch out of a friends back yard. Milled it with a chain saw and a table saw. I used indoor outdoor carpet for the*bulkheads *and overhead
Once again I got a smokin deal on the carpet so I made use of it. All the fiberglass work I have done myself.
Sorry I'll get off now. You know how it is talking about your boat.

Here is da boat. 32 ft built by Donald Jones of Tacoma 1974. Commercial Salmon Troller.* Now my toy. At least that is what my S.O. says whenever I go work on her.
She is an old boat that nothing work's on her but me.*

That is a sweetheart of a boat Killick. *Nicely done, following the same shape as the flybridge on the mods. *Impressive. *Sure would love to see the layout of that pilothouse now.

Thanks!* The PO did the addition of the pilot house, and I agree that the lines work about as well as could be expected. Last winter I gutted the interior of the PH, so I just happen to have a couple of pics of the new interior - still waiting to complete the new carpeting, but you get the idea.*

Killick,Boat has nice lines and I love that wood seat w the blue thing over it. I should build one for my living room * * ...in my house. Beams and planks in the overhead of a wood boat can't be beat. Looks like you have a boathouse.

Yes - Killick is in a house.* Projects are much easier as I've got a full workshop on the mezzanine.* So you noticed the Futon.....was supposed to be just a temporary solution for last summer as I didn't have time to build in the new settee.* Turned out to be a real hit with everyone, and it makes a very comfortable extra double bunk - so it might be a permanent thing.* It is teak...so it at least has that going for it.*
To Daddyo* -* a Killick is a leading seaman in the Royal Navy (a kellet/killick anchor is their insignia).* I co-own the boat with a retired Naval Aviator - he figured that the Killicks had the best job on ship.

What can I say but "Sumptuous". *I have been playing with a pilothouse alteration on my own boat to extend things here and there, and seeing yours just adds fuel to the fire. *Fantastic boat.

Thanks - Killick is a head-turner.....to me anyway.* There is a segment of the boating community (the wooden boat purists) who put down the mods, however, when it's pouring rain/cold - I can steer in comfort from my heated ph with a fabulous plan view of the way ahead!*
Good luck with your project!* Heck I'm just a girl....but I gutted the ph and put it back together again and everything still worked .* The winter before, I took off most of the upper deck and replaced it. * Just go for it!* Nice boat BTW - I've always liked the layout of the Manatee. **
