I am installing a custom aluminum platform on our ship this year. I'll need to plug the existing 5/16 holes from the previous platform. What is the best way to do this? Some say 5200 some say West system. The holes are about 4 inches above water line.

TIA

I would plug such holes in a manner which imitates the build of the hull.

Drill the holes to 3/8 inch. Tape around the perimeter of the holes to keep things neat. Coat some 3/8 teak bung plugs in epoxy, coat the holes in epoxy, and drive the bungs in just below the surface. Fill the balance with thickened epoxy. When cured wipe the blush off of the cured epoxy with a little soap and water. Touch up with a dab of paint.

That will work.
