We are anchored out at Indian key pass tonight. ( Can’t believe we’ve got cell coverage.) Will be anchoring in Little Shark River tomorrow and Friday on the way to Marathon.Has anyone been in there recently? Am hoping to anchor in the little bay on the north side right at the entrance. Many very conflicting reviews ranging from great holding to all rock bottom, impossible to hook up and reports of irretrievable gear having to be cut off. Also may move east up the river past R4. Anyone with recent experience anchoring anywhere in Little Shark?

We have stayed there several times no problems.

Depending on wind you can anchor at entrance close to beach.

There are a lot of down trees in the area that could foul an anchor. Stay close to channel.

Not really 'recent' but we anchored in that exact spot some 11 years ago. 42ft catamaran using a Rocna - had no trouble at all. Bottom was all mud in our area. Several boats near us plus a few bigger boats to the east of marker 4.

Nice anchorage - don't think you need be concerned. Hope this helps.

Have good mosquito screens if you open the windows!
