Too few hours

Find a Yanmar mechanic to survey the engine if you are worried. You are more likely to have problems from too few hours than too many on a 12-13 year old boat. So many items need to be used or they bind whether with rust, lube losing function, O rings cracking, compressors developing a hitch etc.

When I bought my boat I thought it had too many hours. The engine surveyor said buy this boat. It was well taken care of and all things worked and it has worked for the last 8 months and 6,000 miles. I've just run into my first problem and it is very minor.

Don't worry about too many hours at the number you mentioned but rather worry about too few.
