Probably been asked before, so if so, please lead me in the right direction:

Still working, so my time on the boat is limited. Trying to plan a trip during the Pandemic faces challenges, but thought about crossing Florida on the ditch.

How long would it take to make the crossing from Ft. Pierce to Fort Myers? And if overnight, is there a marina to stop at or is anchoring the only choice.

Any info is appreciated.

Read this, especially some of the posts by Ted. (Don't tell him I said that)!

I had an offer in on a boat in FM and had done the planning on bringing it back and had planned on two days for FM to Stuart. Overnighting at Roland Martin marina. Add a day to Fort Pierce. That was at 8 knots.

By the way I have never heard of that run being termed a part of the ditch. More crossing the lake!

I did it in two days doing like 7.7kts. Overnighted at the entrance to a lock, went through first thing in the AM. Can't remember where exactly that was.
