Hi there,

Does anyone know if the stop solenoid is wired to positive directly, and then the negative run goes through the stop button (thus, when the stop button is pushed, it completes the circuit and pulls the solenoid - thus shutting of the fue)?

OR

Does the solenoid get energized to pull the solenoid and thus allow fuel to run, and when the stop button is pushed it breaks the circuit and forces the solenoid to go back to its uncharged position?

Any simple wiring diagrams would be helpful to help understand...

Thanks,

Chris

The Perkins solenoid on the early eighties engine is energize-to-stop.

On my Perkins the stop solenoid is energized to stop. However its energized via a relay on the Stbd side of the engine. You may have 2 round relays over on that side. Opposite side of the stop solenoid.

Does this help ?
