I am looking to buy a trawler for the 1st time for my retirement. I've been working in the marine industry for 40 plus years have done everything from multiple day charters out of Santa Barbara to dinner trips in the Erie canal. The last 27 years I've been working for the New York State canal corporation doing everything from operating buoy boats, tenders, push boats and tugs to dredge captain for the last 15 years. I was recently looking at a 60' defever meeting repair. Didn't realize how difficult insurance would be. I'm due for a rude awakening in this personal pleasure boat business lol. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
