Greetings to All:
I have had my ComNav 1001 control head refurbished with new card and updated at the factory. Also bought and installed a new distribution box. Now I’m getting rF/Er signals, rudder follower error. So it’s time to rebuild or replace it. Has anyone rebuilt one of these? Replacement with new might, or might not, be easier as I’d have to run the cable from transom to forward cabin. All help appreciated.

If you contact Comnav in BC, they will walk you through what to do next. They are very responsive & assuming you have equipment that is rebuildable and not obsolete, they will take care of you that way too

good luck

Will do, sent them an email last week but no response yet. They were very helpful for the refurb and vert responsive.

I've also been treated well by Comnav support. I'd guess they'd recommend installing a new rudder follower compatible with your control unit. Pulling the cable will likely be the worst part of the project, at least it was for me when I installed my PS2 pilot.
