Black Box in Engine Space?

Can anyone tell me what this black box is for or does? As fitted to my GB42MY

Do you have an electric davit/crane for your dinghy? If it is, the selonoids for the up/down are in it.

That looks likely, most likely not factory install, something a PO did. And if course you never know what the PO was up to or if he knew what he was doing.

No electric davits or crane but it could be a solenoids for the bow thruster?.
