2015 Mercury/Tohatsu 15 hp owner question...

We have a nice running 2015 15 hp Mercury with shift and throttle integrated into the tiller arm.

Problem is tiller arm is incredibly stiff in spite of all my efforts to lube the obvious spots. I googled the heck out the issue with no luck.

So before I open a pandoras box of dissembling the tiller arm, anyone with a similar engine have the same problem and can tell me what or where I should be looking for that may not be so obvious?

I’ve got a new 2022 20 hp which I’m pretty sure is the same powerhead. Anyway tiller swing tension is adjusted by a silver lever under the tiller arm post. Push to make harder pull for less I think but could be other way. Look and see if yours is equipped like this.
