The water tank gauge in my 2003 MS 400 shows empty at 1/2 tank. I'm sure its a sinking float on the sender. Has anyone removed the sender and if so how? It does not look like its held down with screws. I suspect it's either a quarter to half turn or held in by friction using the rubber gasket. Any help other than replacing the sender and gauge would be appreciated.
An update
The sensor unscrews. The only problem is that the sensor is too long to remove without drilling a hole in the deck.
