Changing gears a little here's Diana Krall doing a Billy Joel number.

. . . .and one from Billy himself

Another song I like very much.

And another from Jackson Browne

and another. I just like his style.

Bonnie Raitt and Brian Adams
Rock Steady! I'll bet she has some stories!

T

Great post, Steve. Bonnie Raitt is one of the greats, and Brian Adams singing I like very much. I will bet Bonnie does have quite a few stories, but she didn't come up the hard way like some performers. She was raised in California. Her Father was John Raitt, who had a long career as a successful actor. He acted and sang on Broadway, movies and TV.

Now, let's bring back to first performer on this thread, Boz Scaggs. This link is to one of his live concerts with his great band and backup singers. Watch as much or as little as you like.

Here's a link to a concert by Bobby Caldwell. If you get to the second number, it is a Boz Scaggs song.

Here's one from the late George Michaels. He was a huge talent.

Enjoy the variety of music selections offered by the community! Exposed to many forms and artist gyrenes never heard before!
Besides classic country I enjoy light opra or classical music. Here is an example of young talent who has a huge following among those who encourage and support extrordinay God Given talent.
Know this. This young lady had no coaching or teaching of music, she just picked it up and performed on her own. She may later have acquired assistance, this is unknown.

WOW! Al, that's all I can say is just WOW! That is a very talented young lady. Thank you for sharing with us.

Incredible voice, Al. Thanks for posting. (My pulse is slowly returning to normal.).

Coming back down to earth, here is a group I had forgotten about.

As you can guess I'm reaching back to my halcyon days. So, grab your date, hold her close and dance to this.

and this from a little later.

I don't think we've had anything by Wilson Pickett. This is Mustang Sally. We did a development in N. Georgia with an equestrian theme. The homes had rear entry garages accessed from alleys. Of course we had to name one Mustang Alley.

My late wife's name was Annie. You can probably imagine how she just loved this song----not.

The Traveling Wilburys with a very special guest

and here's one from Roy

and another. We could do a whole thread featuring the songs he both sang and wrote.

Here's another from the late and great Merle Haggard. Bonnie Owens sings some fine harmony on this. Everybody knows the way I'm feeling 'cause Everybody's Had the Blues.

This just because I like it, and think it has a nice little beat.

Thanks, RT. You just reminded me of the old rocker, Joe Cocker. I saw him perform live, and it was a hell of a show. Here's one of my favorites from him. It's a Van Morrison song, Into the Mystique. Some great acoustic guitar on this.

Greetings,
Mr. M. A lot of what's been posted has brought back memories and some have led me to youtube journeys that have gone on for hours. From what little I remember, them was some good times...
By the same token, some of the stuff doesn't work for me at all.

Great post, Steve. It's always good to see you on this thread. Really interesting stuff.

Great stuff, indeed! That Heart number reminded me that Ann Wilson hasn't lost much vocally over the years. This tribute to Zeppelin with the boys looking on from the balcony is pretty amazing. Literally causing Robert Plant to wipe away some tears.

Ian, that was a wonderful tribute, and great performance all around. Ann Wilson's voice seems to have gotten stronger over the years. To the point that she sometimes reminds me of Cass Elliot.

Heart had to be good. They came to prominence when men ruled the music scene.

Very true, Don. It's always a pleasure to hear giants from that generation who can still bring it. This short clip is an excellent example.

The blurb on the you tube site says Willie Nelson wrote this song. I never knew that.
CRAZY

Such a memorable, musically artful song, but I never have gotten those lyrics at all. Always seemed like a melancholy but nonsensical, faux-profound phrase jumble wrapped up in soul-stirring music to me. Like Lewis Carroll writing lyrics to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
