The strongest low pressure event in the world is expected to happen in the far western Aleutians. It was said that only two other low pressure events like it have ever happened. Both of them tropical.
It’s forecast to happen off the Island of Shemya. 54’ waves are predicted as high as some 5 story buildings and 80mph winds.
 
That’s insane.
 
On Unimak Is I experienced winds in the summer nearly that strong. Felt like the little shack I was living in was going to blow away. Not as a figure of speech ... I was worried.

But this event is an atmospheric even that’s never happened before.
