Folks,
A fellow Pilgrim owner is trying to remove crank pulley. He checked the technical manual and it told him to use the taper washer removing tool. No other reference. After lots of calling around he came up with a picture of the tool. The taper washer has threads on the inside. The tool looks like a piece of bar stock with threads on one end and a hex on the other end. I figure the theory is that you screw the tool into the taper washer and it pulls on the washer as it pushes on the crankshaft.
Westerbeke gave him the Mazda part number for the tool. 49V101-155
Is there a modern equivalent? Seems like a standard machine shop job if you know the right tool.
Thanks for help on this.
