The most protected and scenic spot to the northeast of Sillery Bay just to the east of Holland Point. Dobbins can be nice during the week, but loud and unpleasant on weekends. All are crowded on weekends. It is a lovely area, and no where as busy as the Severn. A lot of people swim, but swim at your own risk as the most recent river report for 2013 indicated that bacteria levels can be high.
As for restaurants accessible by boat, they are on the south side of the river. Deep Creek Restaurant and Marina on Deep Creek a mile or so in from the river entrance and The Point on Mill Creek at the Ferry Point Marina. The Point is the happen' place and quite nice. Both accessible with 4 ft draft, but easier to get a tie up during the week.
