Home Port Ladysmith. Five years ago no container ships parked. Then one sometimes. Last couple of years- four or five is the norm. So I would say for us locally, yes there is a good backlog around the Vancouver port.
 
Hmmm. True truck driver average hourly is about $25 compared to fast food server $15.
The latter goes home every day.
$25 is considered the minimum livable wage, I should have said that, not minimum wage for entry level workers.

Perhaps the fast food server is getting paid way, way, WAY too much for his/her skill set. Jobs that will soon enough be replaced by technology.
