40-55ft, <4ft draft, few steps,
1975-2010, diesel, kept in good condition
Preferences: one-level Europa type design,
with lots of large opening windows,
heavy F/G layup for coastal cruising
with single engine,
and rudder attached to keel.
An autopilot would be nice.

Thanks Ted, no we are not seeking specific makes, just looking for a boat on SE coast USA or in E USA or Bahamas regions to buy that has the specs suitable for our Bahamian living aboard:
( shallow draft, heavy F/G hull, few stairs/mostly one level, double bed on main floor, single diesel).
It would be a real blessing to have lots of light and air from large opening windows too if possible!. &#55357;&#56845;

Our Bahamas long term many miles liveaboard cruising necessitate shallow draft (<4ft) and either single engine with well-protected prop (or tunnel drives low HP if 2 props like the Bluewaters have). Carolyn, would be helpful to have an idea of your target price range. Based uponthe description so far it might range from $30k to north of 500k. Also # of cabins and heads. Do you need a generator? Willing to invest time and money or are you looking to leave for your destination immediately? i am sureyou have looked on Yachtworld so what has been interesting so far? Have you checked on insurance availability? The more info you can share the more likely members can be helpful.

Willard 40 might fit your criteria. None for sale right now, but they come up a couple times a year. Economical, stout, full keel, and single engine. Decent picture of a sister ship

Sorry re my initial response to the suggestion to look at the Grand Banks, which may not have been appropriate, for we are looking for low HP and/or single engine. Thanks anyway for thinking of us!
