I have recently replaced a 4"X 120" bronze prop shaft with stainless. The exterior has some surface pitting which chewed up my cutlass bearings and thusly required replacement. This could be important to someone who would like to replace a 3.5' or smaller bronze shaft with the same material. They could turn the metal to a smaller diameter.
Keep in mind this was on my boat for 40 years. I know zincs have been changed during the last 20 years at or before 40% and I have logs. There is no hint of zinc or copper loss but it would have to be tested to be 100%.
It has a tapers, key and threads at both ends.
No idea of value, very important to a period restoration...
