Boat Not For Sale
Have you ever had this happen to you ? I looked on Yacthworld the other day, haven't been there much in the last two years after buying the Vantare. Just thought I check and see what boats weer selling for these days and how the market was doing. To my susrprise, there was a boat similiar to mine for sale in the CA Bay Area. A closer look revealed it was my boat. Pictures, write up of hours and tender all the same. It did not say sister-ship.
Guess maybe I'll call and ask if I can come see it ? Ses if I can get them to raise the price. To funny. If you want, look at the add and give them a call, we'll see how much interest we can get for a boat NOT FOR SALE. To funny..

Greetings,
Call and ask if the seller speaks Hausa (look it up).

Friends of mine had the same experience. There's nothing to be gained be contacting the 'seller'.

I see this all the time! Was it the same broker that had your boat listed or did the seller you bought from have it listed with 2 brokers? Sadly, many brokers will post boats online and leave them up forever just to make the appearances that they have a lot of inventory. Did you see this boat on Yachtworld? If so you can contact YW and let them know your boat is online without your permission or just call the broker and ask him how motivated the seller is and ask when you can come by and see it.
Funny thing is- 3 boats ago I owned a Silverton 38 sedan. I took some very good, high quality marketing pictures of that boat when I was selling it. On 2 different occasions I have seen my personal pictures used advertising other vessels whereby they'd have 4-5 of my pictures mixed in with pictures of the actual vessel. Very odd when that happens!!

I just figured I'd have some fun with it and have all my boating friends call to schedule an appointment to see the boat and waste the brokers time.

Any contact they get from this misrepresentation is a plus for them, any.

This is just like realtors that leave the For Sale sign up long after it has a contract, and sometimes well after it closes. They get the call and direct you to some other property.

oh right, now they know what you are looking for... they'll tell you they "just" sold it but they can help you find something similar?? Doesn't sound like it was even their listing to begin with?? Makes it even MORE shady, if that is possible.

Nothing like a little bait and switch sales tactic.
