• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)

All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Davit Crane

$3,000

Davit Crane Full Shot.jpg

Davit Crane back.jpg

Produced by Pacific Fabricating in Anacortes. I bought this (WAY ahead of myself) intending to put in on our trawler for winching our dinghy to the aft deck, but we’ve decided instead to keep our dinghy on the existing transom davits and store kayaks on our aft deck.

This crane has a 12v DC powered winch with metal cable for up and down – the arm is intended to stay fixed in position.

Additionally the stainless steel tip of the crane arm has several positions (shown pictured all the way in) to fine tune its length.

Moving the crane on its axis (to “spin”) is manual. It mounts on a large roller thrust bearing on the base.

The crane is marked with a warning sticker with 1,000 lbs capacity.

It has two stainless steel support arms to set its fixed height (and therefor extension/reach).

It comes with a spare winch motor. We can demonstrate the winch motor and control work, we have tested it with a deep cycle battery. As noted above, we purchased this crane used and have never installed it in our boat.

It’s likely that unless you are lucky, you will have to have the mounting base modified to fit your boat, as the collar was welded to a particular angle for its original installation. This is a very well built davit crane, fabricated from aluminum with stainless steel hardware. While you can see the sticker/decals have faded, it appears in good working order. Work to customize the base post to your boat will require cutting/grinding/welding to reset or replace the collar on the base post. It appears the business that built the crane still exists but may be under new ownership. (Now possibly Pacific Marine Fabrication LLC.)

Included in sale:
- Crane main body
- Crane mounting post/support (with bearing)
- Spare SS support arm for adjusting fixed height
- Picking hook with pulley
- Up/down control
- Reversing solenoid set
- Reversing winch motor (installed in crane main body)
- Spare winch motor

The wires shown in the photos of the relay are some we used to connect/test the relays/winch motors, and are not necessarily marine suitable; we also have a paired 40a circuit breaker set that came with the crane. A few more photos in a following post....

This is available to view in Mount Vernon, about 25 minutes east of Anacortes.

Davit Crane Measurements

I can't believe I didn't think of this, but have been asked about measurements of the crane... here we go, described as best I can:

Here are some of the measurements I have been able to get off the davit crane, all of the above are my best measurements with measuring tape, an 8 ft plywood strip, a framing square and angle gauges.
Standpipe from bottom end to the bottom of the collar is (roughly) 41 in.* I say roughly because*the collar is set in place at an angle, likely to fit an angled or arched deck.* The outside diameter of the collar is approximately 11.5 in.
With the standpipe inserted into the crane body (without the bearing in place, so this measurement is approximate, the bearing is about 1 in thick, I think) the measurement from the bottom of the standpipe to the crane arm pivot bolt (stainless bolt seen near the back of the crane arm body) is 62.5 in.
The crane arm length (just the white painted portion) from the tip to the pivot bolt is 83 in.
The crane arm length from the pulley center bolt (as positioned in the pictures) to the pivot bolt is 87.5 in.
The crane arm is currently positioned at 65 deg from vertical.**
At this position, along the horizontal (parallel to deck level) it is approximately 72 in from the center of rotation (center of the standpipe) to outside end of the pulley.*

It has not; we still have it for sale.

Ok, thanks - stand by, I have a friend that might be interested.

Davit available?

Hi is this davit still available?
I missed the standpipe diameter and wall thickness, could you reshare those?
