I just replaced our old and tired fresh water pump with a newer Jabsco version. The pump runs great, lots of pressure but it rattles the copper lines back to the water tanks! Super noisy. Some kind of water hammer effect?

There is a section of flexible hose between the pump and the copper piping on both inlet and outlet. We don't have an accumulator tank, but I do plan to add one.

Any thoughts?

The new pump may be setting up a harmonic resonance that the old one didn't. Adding the accumulator should change the vibration a little bit and you might need to put in a piece of flexible tubing to the tank side to isolate or modify the vibration frequency.

I would add an accumulator and see if this resolves the issue.

Some foam pipe insulation from the hardware store should stop the rattling if nothing else works. Not a bad idea to put in on all the hot lines anyway. On the cold lines you would only need it where they are touching something to rattle against.
