If I'm heading north from Marathon to Miami are there any inlets I can use to pass from the ocean side to the inside
16'air draft 4'water draft. Hoping to hear from someone with actual experience using these passages
Thanks

Channel 5 at Lower Matecumbe is the most common pass from Hawks Channel to the ICW on the back side for boats routing North, 65 ft fixed bridge and plenty of water.

Snake Creek in Islamorada is the next choice, vertical clearance 27ft, plenty of water.

Tavernier Creek only has 15ft vertical clearance, and skinny water

Channel 5 gives you the most direct shortest distance and easiest transition to the ICW

I've been through snake Creek and a small boat how do you find the entrance right before the bridge?
Thank you this is the exact information I was hoping for

How do you find the channel on the ocean side of Snake Creek? I know it winds around and I have been through there on a small boat.
Thanks for this info this is exactly what I was looking for

Its clearly marked, with a pair of binoculars you should pick it up easily. Would not be my first choice for where to cross over.
