This week has been cool and wet. That has not stopped our local Otters. Here is one hauled out on the dock at the nearby Fernwood Pier, having a large Dungeness Crab for brunch.
The very next day, even closer to our home, a pod of half a dozen humpback Whales were snorting their way up Houstoun Passage, and this morning, a Stellar Sea Lion came within 100 ft of the same dock the Otter photo was taken. Stellar Sea Lion males, (according to the internet) get to over 10' long and 1000kg (2200lb). This one was all of that.
