The Californian 34 tics a lot of boxes for me but I'm not sure about that nearly flat bottom aft and relatively short keel. Does anyone here have experience with it?

Years ago I moved one from Santa Cruz to San Francisco. Long one day run in fairly calm conditions. Boat ran and handled as expected and was fine. From an ownership perspective, I'm not a fan of twins in boats this size due to outboard access, but that's a personal decision. Lord knows there are many more twins than singles out there. Fuel tanks are smallish, presumably to allow more space for engines.

What are your concerns about deadrise at transom? I would think this boat would be similar to the zillion of other similar vintage motoryacht hulled boats out there.

Good luck

Peter

Thanks mvweebles. I don't know of another boat with such a flat bottom AND less than a full length keel. My concern is about what I don't know, what unanticipated problems or characteristics it might have.
