Seat "insert" for Grand Banks 42C bridge helm bench

I swear I remember reading a string a year or two back about taking something like a West Marine high back folding seat, placing it on the standard Grand Banks bridge bench seat and using it as an "ok" substitute for a high dollar stand alone seat.

But I can't find that thread - AND I can't remember the Google search string to more easily find old threads on this form.

Help is appreciated!

Check on Yachtworld. I remember seeing this picture recently while searching there. That boat is listed somewhere I'm sure I saw it.

If I found a comfortable helm chair, I would fall asleep at the helm. I do have sleep apnea. I do like my afternoon nap. LOL

I have a similar set up on my FB, but much cleaner.

PO cut hole in lid and put pedestal through lid. He then just mounted the seat to the lid. So it can be returned to original.
