Thank you to everyone for your comments and advice. I sent a sample off for testing and have just received the results - "No Asbestos Detected in Sample". Phew!

But well worth the expenditure for peace of mind.

Great! Glad it worked out this way. Now you can rip away without concerns about asbestos.

Comodave had the correct plan, almost. Add a bit of soap to the water you spray it to keep it wet. The soap (called amended water) will allow the tile to absorb water better to saturate it. We trained on this years ago. And if you have to use a vacuum cleaner make sure it is HEPA rated for asbestos. Otherwise you'll just create a problem with airborne particles.

I have a CHB 1984 Blue Ocean. I have exactly the same. I did an official Laboratory Test as I was afraid that it was asbestos too.
No. It is not. Not any asbestos fiber found. If you need my analisis I can send you a copy. It is from 2011. But don't worry it's correct.
