36 Classic VS 36 Heritage Classic

36' GB Heritage Classic When we purchased our 1988 36' Grand Banks, it was advertised as a Heritage Classic. Additionally, in model year 1988 or 87, the 36' was widened and lengthen by 6" and now referred to as "Wide Body". This change provides more room throughout but particularly, noticeable...

    GB - Ventilation

GB Ventilation We usually crack the forward hatch an 1" or two, no so much the rain would come in. Mostly push open the center windshield window a bit and open the rear facing saloon window ( upper deck overhang above it), neither will take rain. Vents to engine room do ventilated at a certain...

    Hello from Maine

36' Grand Banks Hi Ted, Welcome to the Trawler Forum. I think Cigatoo was referring to me in Harpswell, Thank you, Cigatoo. I'll make this short as I believe we will meet for lunch tomorrow in Hallowell with Ansley. We experience many of the same feeling when we embarked on the big boat...

    Bob and Linda new members

Gb36 Welcome Bob and Linda, preemptively, As Cigatoo said, "you are gonna like that boat". We are on year 7 with our GB 36 #819, she has provided much enjoyment and class along the coast of Maine. We, too have a bow thruster but as Cigatoo mentioned, we use it rarely but it's there when we need...

1973 36 GB water tank removal

GB Water Tanks Cigatoo, very interesting! I have just started removing our water tanks in our 1988 36' Aft Cabin. Stbd one I cut up and got out yesterday. Will get to port in the next few days. Did you do your tanks yourself? I like the dimensions of your tanks and the actual tanks that are...

    1982 GB 36 single prop

GB Prop Yup, 4 blades on our prop. 2" shaft running from CAT 3208 NA. Your data sounds right on for your hull and engine RPMs....you know, like Cigatoo implied, don't mess with mother nature or GB Classic specs.....1/2 knot is nothing in the big picture. Enjoy your GB the way it was designed...

    Water tanks

Old Sea Dog, Nice work! I have a couple of questions. In our 88 36 GB Classic, the tanks are aluminum, original, the length so a is 42.5 and width (front to back) is 18" , there are two for a total capacity of about 195g. I'm going to replace them this winter and am very interested in your out...

    Hilton Head vs. Charleston

USS Laffley Dan, The USS Laffley is another great ship built by Bath Iron Works in Maine. She took a (severe) licking but kept on ticking in WWII. There is a real reason that "Bath Built is Best Built"....USS Laffley is an extraordinary example. Worth a tour at Patriots Point. Best regards...

    forum intro - tvtfc

Hmmmm! Hmmm! Let me guess...12 seasons working on, near or maybe not all in Bristol Bay with your attitude either led to the mariners there having their way with you or they kicked you arse...a lot, leading to this unsolicited, incoherent rant about all YOUR perceived injustices. Maybe it's...

tvtfc Twisted, my head was beginning to hurt, early, so missed that inference. Mr. tvtfc sounds like an AI bot and I can hardly spell AI....but if real, is headed for a rude "come to Jesus moment" I will re-read this post because not only is it contrary to the TF mission it really just plain...

Unnecessary Word Salad Sorry! This posters word salad is almost incoherent and makes my head hurt....zero value, other than to intentionally crank up this membership, IMHO (In my humble opinion)....he might run his ideas by Davy Jones, if he is really not interested in prudent maritime guidance...
