6-71 fuel consumption

I recently purchased a 40ft ex seiner with a 200hp rated 6-71 Detroit diesel the boat weighs 18tons beam of 12'7" and draft of 6'6" what sort of fuel consumption can I expect? Thanks in advance

I would think + or - 6 gallons /hr if you run 1700 Rpms

Years ago we used to say 1 gallon per cylinder but they were rated 165 hp continuous
at 1800 rpm

What sort of speed would be the most efficient? I was thinking around 7kts?
 
7kts and that engine is going to be working easy. My guess is 4gph at 7. Maybe 5-6gph at 7.5-8.

Depends on boat and how it's propped. EGT/Fuel Flow are your friend.
