Mainship Cummins Engine Heater Control Unit

Our Mainship has become hard to start, and I believe that the air inlet heater grid is not being energized. I want to find a wiring diagram for the Heater Control Unit to the Heater Grid.

Post that in www.boatdiesel.com and you,ll get a reply with the diagram. It is simple. Probably a bad relay.

A quick test- locate the 2 wires on the inlet air preheater grid, disconnect the heater at the heater grid and retest. The heater grid is right below the air intake.

Or, remove this fuse:

Dave, except for wintertime runs, you can safely operate without the preheaters. I used to keep a small heater in my engine room so the ambient temp remained about 60 degrees.

Otherwise, a wolverine magnetic heater works well to keep the engine warm.
