Here's another way to go. Works great with my old bimini. I found that even the lightweight flex panels sagged the unsupported fabric enough to allow puddling under the panels. This setup supports the fabric enough to eliminate the puddling problem. And it improved the stability of the bimini during a blow.

Dave has laid out his 5 years of growing pains with flexible solar panels there on his thread. Pay close attention to the cooling requirements for the panels as blown diodes and fires can result on an otherwise beautiful, sunny summer day.

Dave and others have found out the hard way and have sounded the warning horn for others. Tread cautiously.
