Apple inReach?

I just read an article in the Miami Herald saying that Apple is looking at giving their cell phones satellite capabilities similar to the Garmin inReach. It sounds to me that it wouldn’t be quite as capable as the inReach but good to have in an emergency.

Hmm, if they could cram what they need from the inside of an InReach Mini into a phone, it would be exactly the capability of an InReach. Except, you wouldn’t need a Bluetooth connection between the phone and InReach and you’d have one less piece of hardware to carry. You could possibly send a text or email and the phone would choose to send via cell, WiFi or satellite similar to what Zoleo does.
