I make my snubbers from triple twist with roughly 4-5 feet at the business end unlaid and then braided. The braided part with a proper hitch will hold either nylon line or chain. There is no metal involved in this snubber. At the onboard end, I either put a loop in it or leave it with a bitter end.

There are a number of ways to attach a snubber to an anchor chain. A gripping hitch, a soft-shackle, or a chain hook are the most common. Of the three, Practical Sailor has a strong preference for a camel hitch or similar gripping knot

I thought about this as it works great on dock lines. However since my bridle has a simple hook to chain that can disengage with sudden loose bridle, this will surely accommodate that occurrence. Suppose if snubber/bridle is hard tied then yes would consider
