Oil sheen- do I chase this or forget about it?

While I agree with Old Dan in principle- at least with my boat I can’t really tell how much oil is still in motor after pumping out. Thus adding the recommended amount will overfill as I probably did originally a few years back

You really need to pull the drain plug so all the oil comes out. A lot of boats have fittings on the drain plug with a hose to completely drain the oil.

When I did the change (first time, just bought, oil black) the stick was halfway.

Pumped out 4 gallons and pumped in 4 gallons. Stick at halfway.

All well. No smoke, no leaks and no oil usage.
