Hello,
Looking for some advice regarding the sea characteristics of Monterey Bay. My brother just moved down that way and hopes to spend a lot of time on the water with his son who is a big whale and bird fan. They have a very seaworthy 21' Downeast hull with a cuddy. If they're good about watching the weather, is this adequate for day trips and an overnight or two?
Thanks for any insight!

The swell is directionally consistent. Summertime more wind waves and winter dependent on the systems moving thru. Can be foggy in the summer. Calm water Santa Cruz and Capitola anchorages. ( if you drop the hook, watch out for the very occasional south swell)
Not to many days a year you can’t go out. Winds 10-15k can go 25-30
Great spot for day trips.
Get the “ windy “ APP. There trends have been really good.
Been boating here a long time and could go on… let me know if you need anything in particular.
