I searched the topic before posting and didn't come up with anything so...the new thread. I am looking to buy a 40ft trawler. Started with online research now out and about looking. Two recent boats I checked out a Marine Trader DC and a Marine Trader Sedan both 40 ft. While on the DC it was tied to a dock in fresh water but a windy day. Then boat felt solid as if it didnt rock much.....couple days ago I looked at the Sedan variant......again freshwater dock a little wind but it felt like it was rocking in just that little bit of "weather." I guess my question is are the Sedan models prone to being more unstable due to the large top deck? How do they handle compared to an aft cabin type arrangement when actually out on the water where things arent as calm near a dock? My thinking was if its rolling in this little dock area what craziness should be expected when there are real conditions to deal with?
