I am looking at these Herreshoff Pilots and see different specs given for speed for various engine sizes. I have seen them powered from 13 to 40 HP.
I know these are not speed boats, but some claim a 12-knot cruise with 25HP. This would be perfect for me as I operate in a tidal river with swift current in areas. I am thinking 10 knots for that HP is probably more reasonable and some have reported as low as 8 knot cruise.
This boat would be my harbor tender to go back and forth to my boat on the mooring and to do some occasional fishing.
Obviously, these pilots are easy on the eyes, but does anyone have experience or been on one of these boats?
