Greetings,
Mr. dd. I'm slightly dubious about the engine paint "touch-up". Probably the messiest I've ever seen. Might just be me but if someone didn't take the time to do a better job of prettying up the engine raises questions about what else they did a shyte and shinola on.

Prior to the sale of our previous boat I fully admit painting our engines. One reason was, of course, to improve their appearance and the another was to remove rust and preserve the metals.

Have to agree, looks hastily prepared. The side deck paint is poorly done as well. Bungs popping on the cap rail, other brightwork needing attention. They describe it as excellent, I’d call it fair to good.

Not mine lol just another Willard if I see I’m I will post them. I prefer the ones out of fales Pearson tillitson mold myself less blisters. So many ugly boats out there for to admit they are pretty boats though.

This Searcher is a 1973. I doubt she has a blister issue, perhaps a few on the bottom.

I have moderated the Willard Boat Owners Group for over 25 years. You are the first to mention Fales being blister free compared to comparable Willard hull. I had a 1972 Searcher that was blister free. My 1970 W36 had quite a few bottom blisters which have been repaired. I consider moderate depth bottom blisters on fiberglass boats to be common enough that it's just a matter of money.

BTW - Pearson was supposed to be the east coast builder of the Willard 30. The deal fell apart after Pearson received the molds from Willard and they then stretched the mold 2 feet to make the Fales and thereby avoid paying Willard their royalty and licensing fee. Sounds credible to me and enough of a shady provenance that I would never own a False no matter how blister free it might be. One guys opinion

Been around other Willard’s besides pleasure boats as well ask around something went wrong often at Willard. Who cares about royalties on ancient boats from the 70s lol. That’s funny l. I might have seen your boat Peter once in Ensenada maybe I’m wrong. I drink south of the border sometimes good looking vessel. Kinda shaped liked a soap box lol.

I think this boat was sold in the last year. The same guy has owned it for many years and kept it in great shape. I don't remember if it was when he owned it or if he sold, but Trident suffered hurricane damage at some point about 8 years ago. She's had a few owners since then. She's probably ready for a knowledgeable owner with a healthy budget to restore her to former glory.

Poured over the pics she is kinda rough looking at the price listed that’s a no go. I’m lifting a fales in ten days to survey might go look at the one Tacoma as well while I’m in town. The Willard on Craigslist has steel tanks boo! Know if any other Willard/fales around? Thanks got cash

Found these 2 over in Scott's Cove Marina on the eastern shore Delmarva.

Well darn.... guess I should have previewed these.

You guys are thinking about a different Willard. I viewed that boat a couple of weeks ago over at Foss Marina. Met the lady owner. Okay condition but too small for our needs - personally I think you need to reach about 34-36 feet before the boat becomes comfortable for use longer than a weekend, unless you like showering in the cockpit in Seattle in the winter, and refrigerators suspended from the ceiling.

Very cute of course in the outside. Way overpriced at $60k IMO.

I’m looking for a 32 or the 30 if equipped right. Most versions acceptable. And no where near 60k lol

The 36's and 40's are huge improvements over the 30 IMHO. Peter's Weebles easily has twice the usable space of the Willard 30's I've been aboard!

dd, your mention of having cash is kind of silly, as I don't know to too many owners of boats for sale under, say $50k who are willing to finance!

After looking at floating dumpsters and weary owner sellers I feel it’s important potential sellers sick of fender kickers that I’m a serious buyer. Silly or not seems more boats sitting on the market that are projects and materials are getting prohibitive lately with inflation. My price range is the low end.

That's a cute boat for someone looking for a small trawler :)

I owned Willard 30 Hull #5, a 1972 Searcher model just as shown in the OP Craigslist ad. I lived aboard it for a year or so and met my now current partner while I owned her. I loved the boat - she looks better to my eyes today than 30 years ago. Cheryll and I fell in love on St Cyr, the name of my W30. It took her years to forgive me for selling her and buying Weebles.

As Slowgoesit says, its a small boat - Willard's are small for their size compared to other boats of similar LOA.

Here’s more pics if anyone was interested got some of the tankage on the sneeker. Kinda nice looking boat but not excellent. Again not mine and I’m taking advice on here they might be kinda small really.
