MS used a fair amount of SouthCo hardware... you could look there as well.

Take a look at the Marliw Msinship builders section. I posted a couple stickies on MS Parts info that includes part pics & source. The largest group is not searchable but you can scan thru the many thumbnails given a little patience and you will have an idea of what's available for future reference.
Good idea to add your boat info to your profile so others know exactly what make, model, year you are inquiring about.

Thanks for your efforts - the original latch is screwed in from the top and the ones I have found so far are like the ones you found where they are screwed in from the bottom.
