Hi folks. I’m looking to replace the base plate at the bottom of the mast on my 1984 Mainship aft cabin 40. It’s a tabernacle / hinge and the part on the mast broke off. There is only about a 1” band of metal that wraps around a bolt to hold it in place. Guys at the yard decided this year that the mast needed to come down to shrink wrap the boat (as opposed to every other year when they did not)…

Pics attached. I need either the whole thing or at least the top piece that is mounted to the mast (not sure how yet)…

Thanks for any pointers to where I can obtain the part in question.

there are plenty of metal fabricators on LI that can make a stainless steel one that will last.
 
I think I would start fresh and have the whole thing made new. My concern would be where will it fracture next if you fix the broken part now. How old is the boat? Since it is your money I have no problem spending it…
