We are berthed about 10 miles south of Annapolis. Yesterday, Saturday, was the first nice weather day so far this year. It was also the opening day for fishing for rockfish. Boating to fish is allowed in Maryland. Recreational boating is not. We went fishing. Hard to do with no fishing poles. We had company. Only for a few miles but it was nice to be back on the water. But, it was not recreational. It was to road test the engines after having re-torqued the head bolts and adjusted the valves. Happy to report that the engines ran noticably smoother and a bit quieter. Back in port now until the boating ban is lifted. Not happy that fishermen get to go recreational fishing but we pleasure boaters are confined to quarters.

We can boat now in Michigan. We launched our boat last Friday. So far so good. It is really dirty from all the work over the winter. Started cleaning on Saturday.

No, no, you were striper, er rockfish fishing! Adjusting trolling speed. Yeah thats it.:D

We were able to take the first cruise of 2020 yesterday. Michigan is finally open for recreational boating, although there are not many boats yet in our marina. We cruised from Lake St. Clair down the Detroit River passing downtown Detroit (Renaissance Center visible in the photo below) and turned back under the Ambassador bridge. The weather was very nice for early May in Michigan. 68 degrees, sun, and light wind. So happy to be boating again! Hope it happens soon for everyone.
